IBFC VISION

The IBFC’s broad vision across South Africa, is develop and produce programmes, projects and initiatives that contribute to skilling, up-skilling, reskilling and professionalising, black filmmakers, and black-owned filmmaking enterprises to enhance, not just the financial growth of the audio-visual sector, but to create accountability, compliance and quality production mechanisms to meet world-class standards. The IBFC are proud to launch our Graduate Internship Programme which offers you an opportunity to upskill yourself as a graduate in our growing industry.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A 4-week paid internship at a production house (script, production, post production, animation production services)
  • Placements are open in all provinces of SA subject to availability of projects.
  • A stipend for travel will be paid to the intern for the duration of the internship (accommodation and meals not covered)

ELIGABILITY

  • Open to all Black students, graduates, assistants under the age of 25
  • South African citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Film, Television or Media final year student
  • Film, Television or Media graduate
  • Industry Assistants looking to upskill
  • You will need to be available for the internship placement over
  • Jan-February 2024 for the sum total of four weeks.
  • Select at least three options from this list of possible areas of internship:
    • Production, writing, directing, camera, VFX, Art Direction, Make-up and hair, Lighting, grips, post production edit, post production sound, locations & unit

  • A completed online application form.
  • A video telling us about yourself and what you hope to gain from this internship (max 2 minutes)
  • A CV or filmography
  • Copy of your ID
  • Proof of Address
